Through interactive exercises, games, and improvisation you will learn to transform what is personal in your life into true and heartfelt stories that are interesting and entertaining to others. A step-by-step process will lead you to identify and structure a story arc that allows you to be honest with yourself and an audience. Class participants will leave the class with an understanding of how stories are structured and with at least one story that will be ready for performance. This class is appropriate for people with varied backgrounds and differing goals. Whether you enjoy the creative process or personal growth, want to perform on stage, or find storytelling useful to your day job, you'll be surprised by what stories emerge when you allow your mind to roam free.

Based on "The Hours," Michael Cunningham's 1999 Pulitzer Prize winning novel, the same- titled film intersects the lives of three women from different generation who are all connected through Virginia Woolf's acclaimed novel, "Mrs. Dolloway" and by tragedy. "The Hours" was nominated for nine Oscars in 2003 with one win, and nominated for many other awards with many wins. Starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore. A plum film for serious discussion.
